USC Aiken History Student Project Presentation “Longing for Place: Voices from Historic Black Graniteville”

This Project “Longing for Place,” builds on a series
of Oral Histories collected by Daniel Lloyd Jr in his
attempt to recreate the community he grew up in. As
part of the project students transcribed these interviews and built projects around questions and issues raised in them. This Event is an attempt to bring
both worlds together and create an interactive space
to explore the History of Black Graniteville. Join us
in remembering a beloved community and learning
more about its residents and their participation in the
larger American Story! Join us for a reception, project exploration, and a panel discussion by community leaders, caretakers, and historians. Concludes with an award celebration.
