The Aiken Trailblazer is an inaugural 5K/10K/1K trail race directed by Victoria Seahorn of Marathon Majic at the beautiful Stable View equestrian facility, sprawling over 1,000 acres of gently rolling hills bordered by canopies of forest.
Stable View has become “a gathering place” and is pleased to be hosting the inaugural “gathering race.” Beyond popular equestrian use, the trails on 850 acres of conserved land lend themselves to this race. Participants will follow a relatively flat course surrounded by longleaf pines in the South Carolina Sandhills – a transitional zone between the Piedmont and Coastal regions. The trails wind through an ecosystem of diverse flora, fauna, and geologic history.
Stable View’s conservation initiatives are to restore and promote a healthy longleaf pine forest with the use of prescribed fire, reintroduction of the endangered Red-cockaded woodpecker, and increase the population of the Eastern bluebird, Bobwhite Quail, Wild Turkey, and other grassland birds.
