From sunrise in the Grand Canyon, to summer in Knoxville, to a hoe-down, this all-American program has it all! With selections including Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and the Four Dance Episodes from “Rodeo”, Barber’s Knoxville, Summer of 1915, and Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite, this concert will have you applauding for more!
Featured is lyric colorotura soprano Diana Thompson-Brewer who hails from Augusta. In addition to her performance with the Aiken Symphony, Diana’s 2023-24 season includes appearing as Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Wilmington, Musetta in La bohème with Greensboro Opera, Magda in La rondine with Mobile Opera and Clara in Porgy and Bess with North Carolina Opera.
