Aiken County Historical Museum Family Fun Days

June 8, 2024
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join the Aiken County Historical Museum on Saturday, June 8 for their monthly Family Fun Day. This event will celebrate the 161st birthday of Richard Flint Howe. Mr. Howe was the Winter Colonist who created the version of our building that we know today as Banksia. He called Banksia home from 1931 to 1943. During this time, his two granddaughters enjoyed visiting the home and riding their horses nearby. Guests to this event will learn more about the granddaughters, make a craft, and get a guided tour of the museum.

There are two sessions for this event. The first session at 10 am is a Sensory Hour in partnership with the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The second session is at 11 am. Both sessions are free and open to the public thanks to funding from the Friends of the Aiken County Historical Museum.
