Henderson Heritage Preserve

This preserve was acquired to protect a longleaf pine and scrub oak sandhills ecosystem. It has a number of hiking trails in the hilly terrain, plus some wetlands. This preserve is named in honor of Frank P. Henderson, a former Mayor of Aiken.

How to Get There

Take I-20 to exit #18 and go south on SC #19 for 3.6 kilometers (2.2 miles). Turn right onto Mayfield Road and go west 1.6 km. (one mile). The heritage preserve is on both sides of the road, and a parking area is located on the right.
