Aiken Community Theatre will be having their first Youth Wing workshop of the Spring Semester on Saturday, January 18th. Grades 4th through 7th will meet from 11:00am to 12:30pm and grades 8th through 12th will meet from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Remember to come early to complete your registration.

Youth Wing Workshops develop important theatre skills such as stage movement, character study, projection, improvisation, and more. Learning theatre skills also applies to real-world soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and creative problem solving! We also emphasize the importance of forming a family-like group with their fellow Youth Wingers, and Youth Wing students often have opportunities to work backstage for shows at the Aiken Community Theatre. The dates for the Spring Semester workshops are January 18, February 8, March 14, April 18, with a showcase highlighting the students’ skills on May 23.

We will be charging a fee this year so that the students can have a more immersive and skill-based experience and allow them to solidify their skills. The tuition fee will be paid at registration and is $25 for the first student from a family, and then $10 for each additional sibling, and the fee covers the entire semester. The first meeting of the year is free if you’ve never attended Youth Wing workshop before. If you are in need of financial aid, we have an immersion fund which can provide tuition assistance. For more information, email immersionrequest@aikencommunitytheatre.org to discuss financial aid to afford the classes.
