Earl Eargle to speak at National Train Day Celebration

For almost thirty years, Aiken was a part of Eargle's territory representing Amtrak as a marketing manager. Aiken area Amtrak passengers board at Camden, Columbia and Denmark using The Silver Star or Greenville, Spartanburg and Clemson using The Amtrak Crescent depending on the passenger's destination. Many people today refer to the Amtrak Crescent as "The Amtrak Southern Crescent." The Silver Star and the Amtrak Crescent offer reclining chairs in coach service, dining car service, club car service and sleeping accommodations. Eargle's assortment of rail passenger information will include schedules, tours and other information. Materials on display will include information on the National Assocation of Railroad Passengers (NARP). NARP is a public organization dedicated to ensuring better rail service in America working with local and national leaders to build a 21st century train network that gets you where you want to go. Millions continue to use America's railroads. Amtrak set an all time high record in 2013 with 31.6 million passengers. 2014 ridership exceeded 2013. For those interested in music, "People, Trains & Things in Bluegrass," a CD by the Lucas & Harmon Brothers will be available. This collection of original rail passenger and historical event songs has recently been placed in the Library of Congress, Washington DC. Selections include: "The Southern Crescent," "Auto-Train," "Asheville Special" and "Turbo Train." Eargle will be happy to give you Amtrak travel tips in order to assist you with your traveling needs. Souvenirs for children and adults will be available. Be sure to stop by and meet Earl Eargle on Saturday, May 9th from 11 am -1 pm. ALL ABOARD!
